The Switching Day Kit
One hour a year to stop paying for your loyalty: a plan, a tracker, calendar reminders and five ready-to-use call & chat scripts.
Insurance, internet, phone, energy, bank accounts, streaming. Most of us sign up once and then never look again. Meanwhile the price quietly creeps up, and new customers often get a better deal than the people who stayed.
The Switching Day Kit turns that into one calm, planned hour a year. You put one date in your calendar, list what you pay for, compare it with what new customers get, and make one call or send one chat message per contract. No spreadsheet skills and no confrontation needed — the scripts do the talking for you.
It's the companion to the Coin & Cortex video about why you and your neighbour can pay different prices for the same thing, and the free Fair Price Protocol checklist is included.
What you get from it
- A clear routine. A 30–60 minute Switching Day plan, broken down minute by minute, plus a 15-minute monthly mini-check.
- Every contract in one place. A tracker that works out your yearly cost, your cancel-by dates and what you saved, and flags anything you haven't compared in a while.
- Reminders that come back on their own. Import one calendar file and your Switching Day and monthly check repeat automatically.
- Words for the awkward call. Five fill-in-the-blank scripts for phone or chat: insurance, internet & phone, streaming & subscriptions, bank fees, and energy. Each one covers what to say if they say no.
- A defence against "personalised" pricing. Simple habits for checking price history and getting a fair price, not the one picked for you.
- Safe rules for AI shopping assistants. Ten rules and a copy-paste prompt so an assistant works for your budget, not the seller's.
- Written to last. Principles and templates instead of time-limited deals, so you can use the kit again and again.

Questions
Does this work in my country?
The kit is written for the US, the UK and Europe and stays general on purpose. The routine, the tracker and the scripts work wherever you pay for contracts and subscriptions. Cancellation rules and notice periods differ by country and provider, so the kit shows you where to check your own.
Is this financial or legal advice?
No. It's an organisation and education toolkit. You decide what to keep, switch or cancel, and you should always check your own contract terms.
Do I need Excel?
No. There's a version for Google Sheets (free with a Google account), a version for Excel or LibreOffice, a CSV, and a printable tracker page in the PDF.
How long does it take?
Set-up takes about 20–30 minutes the first time. After that, one Switching Day of 30–60 minutes a year plus an optional 15-minute monthly check.
I hate phone calls. Will this still help?
Yes. Every script has a chat/email version, and many changes can be done online. The scripts are short, polite and come with lines for when the agent says no.
Will it go out of date?
It's built around principles, routines and templates, not this month's deals. The only part that names specific apps or websites is a short "Tool examples (may change)" appendix.
Which calendar apps work with the .ics file?
Most of them. Common calendar apps on phones and computers can import .ics files. Some apps ignore the built-in alerts, so set your own reminder if you don't see one.
Can I share it with friends?
The licence is for personal use by the buyer and their household. If it helped, send friends the free Fair Price Protocol checklist or the video instead.
